Adhesives
In a foundry, there is a variety of practical applications for products that are necessary to assemble and firmly hold mould and core together, seal joints or to perform repairs.
These products often bear a very great responsibility in the production process of high quality castings. The Hüttenes-Albertus (HA) product line thus includes the right adhesive for nearly every application. Products that have proved to be reliable over the years are kept up-to-date. Always respecting our customers´ demands, we are unceasingly working on the development of new products.
The HA products may be classified into four groups according to their application possibilities and basic compositions.
Cold-Adhesives: | Sodium silicate-based adhesives with various viscosities, for all-purpose application; curing at room temperature, which can be accelerated by heating. |
Hot-Adhesives: | Polysaccharide-based adhesives, curing by drying; particularly used for hot box and cold box moulding methods. |
Shell-Adhesives: | Adhesives based on thermically curing synthetic resins; the curing reaction is analogous to that in the shell moulding process. Particularly for hot box and shell moulding processes. |
Special-Adhesives: | Hot-melt adhesives for assembly purposes; solventcontaining adhesives; sealing compounds |
HA Microwave Adhesive 6448 (a special-purpose sodium silicate adhesive) was developed for mechanical adhesive application with subsequent microwave drying.
Schnellkleber B is a product based on synthetic resins dissolved in organic solvents. Its "open" time is approximately twice that of Schnellkleber A.
