Gas producing tablet for the controlled introduction of hydrogen gas into diecastings. Non hazardous classification for supply! DIECASTING FLUX 17 is a brown coloured flux and available in powder or tablet form. It gives a controlled introduction of gas into molten aluminium in order to eliminate cracking and shrinkage defects, and also to improve the surface finish of die castings. It should not be used for sand castings or other castings where the cooling rate is slow. It does not leave a sticky deposit in ladles and crucibles, which sometimes occurs with alternative products.

Hexachloroethane free degassing powder or tablet giving extremely low levels of fume in operation, with exceptionally fast breakdown and minimum melt turbulence. A grey coloured tablet or block. It is used to degas most aluminium alloys with the exception of alloys where the presence of sodium is detrimental. ECOGAS 16 is virtually fumeless in operation, thus avoiding the environmental problems associated with hexachloroethane based degassers.
